Other Special Tributes reflected upon by Brenda Nielsen
In the Sweet By and By

Sherrill and I have had the distinct pleasure and honor of working with and knowing so many of the great Southern Gospel Music Hero’s who have gone on to receive their crown and reward for a job well done. They all had a life of hope, strength and grace. They were children of God that answered His call.

In addition, we worked and knew so many performers in the secular world of music, film and TV. The common thread between the two genres of music is that they made our world a brighter and better place. They all left a legacy of joy and pride and pleasure, a loving, lasting memory that our grateful hearts will always treasure.

American EagleWe would also like to pay a special tribute to all of our veterans, who have so graciously served in the Armed Forces. We recognize and honor the sacrifices they have made for our country. We want to say a special thank you to their families for the sacrifices they made so we can enjoy the freedom that they fought so hard to preserve.

For those of us who are left behind, we look to God for strength. For He promises that we will get to see our loved ones again…. in the “Sweet By and By.” We have released our loved onesVoice to God but perhaps Beyond the Gateyou can find comfort in knowing that they are just a prayer a way…they will always be in our hearts. A song that Elvis Presley loved was in the “Sweet By and By”. Many nights when Sherrill and Elvis were gathered around the piano, he would ask Sherrill to sing in the “Sweet By and By” over and over and over again. Perhaps this song made him feel a little closer to those he lost. So right beyond the gates of life so fleeting…there is for us a better home. A place where peace shall reign forever; and sighs and tears shall never come. Beyond the gates, beyond the sunset. New life immortal for us waits. We’ll be at home on life’s fair morning. Beyond the gates, beyond the gates. Beyond the Gates is another classic Southern Gospel song that Elvis would have Sherrill sing over and over again.

"There’s a land that is fairer than day.
And by faith we can see it afar,
For the Father waits over the way
To prepare us a dwelling place there.
In the sweet by and by…
We shall meet on that beautiful shore.
In the sweet by and by,...
We shall meet on that beautiful shore."
